Is it safe to use my credit card?
Absolutely. We have taken every precaution to make your transactions secure. Our Internet site is built on the CoreCommerce system which utilizes industry-standard security measures, including SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). Nevertheless, if you prefer, we also offer you the option of submitting your order by mail, fax or phone (see below). All account information submitted to us is safely isolated from unauthorized Internet access.

Do I have to pay sales tax?
Sales tax will only apply to residents of Illinois, but not to any other US state.   Non-US customers are responsible for any VAT, tariff or other taxes that may be applicable in your country.  Leo's Leather does not collect any non-US taxes at the time of sale.

How can I pay for my order?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. We also accept checks and money orders. Orders paid by check will usually not be processed until the funds have been verified. If you are sending a check, please make the check payable to: Leo's Custom Leather.  If paying by check or money order please contact us prior to sending your payment to get the exact shipping cost and any applicable sales tax.   Please reference your order number on all correspondence.

Ordering Offline
We will accept orders by mail or fax.  Click here for our blank order form and use your browsers print function to print the order form.   You may have to disable pop-up blockers first.  Our address and fax number are listed on top of the form.

How much will my shipping charges be?
During the order process, you will be given a list of different UPS shipping methods from which you can pick the one that suits you. The total cost of goods and the cost of shipping as well as sales taxes if applicable are clearly displayed.

The following are estimates for shipping.  Your actually shipping charges may differ.  During the order process your exact shipping costs will be calculated and displayed before completing your order.

  • US shipments:  For one jacket, UPS ground shipping is Free, with 2nd day air varies from $40-60 depending on distance.
  • International shipments: the cost of shipping is based on the destination country.   For most of western Europe and Japan, the cost for shipping is usually between $100 and $120 USD for one jacket.

How long will it take to get my order?
Most orders are processed within 24 hours of being placed.  If we have the jacket in stock, your jacket will be shipped either the day of your order or the next business day.  Occasionally we are out of stock of a particular jacket (see below for more info) and will need to order from the Schott warehouse.  At this point we are dependant on Schott having the jacket in stock.   If the jacket is in the warehouse, it will add an additional 2 to 3 days to the order processing for us to receive the jacket from Schott.  If the jacket is not in stock, we will notify you with the details and allow you to decide how you want to proceed.

The time for UPS to deliver will depend on the shipping method you select during the ordering process.  Most UPS shipping methods are self explanatory.  If you have selected UPS ground as a shipping method, go here for a map displaying the estimated days for delivery.

International shipments are usually delivered within 3 to 4 business days.

How do I track my order?
Go to the "Order Status" page and you will receive details about any outstanding or back orders, and their status.  Once your order has been shipped, the UPS tracking number will be available on this screen.  For your convenience, a UPS tracking form is available at the bottom of the screen.

If you ordered by mail, fax or phone, we will email the tracking number to you.

What if I need to return my order?
Your Satisfaction is Guaranteed!  You may return an item in its original unused condition with tags attached for a refund or credit within 15 days of receiving. Shipping charges can only be refunded if the return is due to our error. All returns must be accompanied by the packing slip. After a return has been received, it will take 1-2 days to process. If using a credit card, refunds will be credited to your account. If paying by check or money order, a refund check will be mailed to you. We suggest using UPS or similar service to return your purchase.

To start the return process, just send an email to leo@leosleather.com stating that you'd like to return a item. Please include your order number.  We will reply with any special instructions.

If for any reason, you want to exchange an item we have a couple of options available to you.

  1. You can return the item as described above.  Please email us before returning with the details on what you are looking for in exchange.  This will help us expedite your exchange and to ensure we have the new item in stock.  Once we receive your original item, we will ship out the new one using the shipping method you want.
  2. Same as #1, but we cross ship your new item to you before receiving the original item.   In order to do this we must charge your credit card for the amount of the new item.   Once the original item has been received, we will issue a credit for the original item.

For all exchanges the cost of shipping the item to us and for us to ship the new item to you is your responsibility.  It is our policy to charge the shipping cost for the new item to the original credit card used to purchase the item.

What if you don't have all of the items in stock?
If an item you ordered is out of stock, it will be back-ordered automatically (domestic orders only). For international orders, we will E-mail you of the missing items to confirm the balance of your order.

Your credit card will not be billed until the item ships.
